==生平==

懷斯曼生佇波士頓的猶太家庭，老母佮老爸分別 Gertrude Leah ( née Kotzen ) 和 Jacob Leo Wiseman。先後畢業佇威廉士學院藝術學專業佮呢魯法學院。一千九百五十四–五六年佇美軍做兵。後來佇咧波士頓大學教授法律。咧成做律師了無偌久就開始執導紀錄片，第一改翕的紀錄片一九六七年的《提卡失序記事》，到今將翕了四十外部作品，而且閣得著誠濟獎的肯定，包括贏著四擺艾美獎，以及古早海姆獎佮麥克阿瑟獎。

二空一四年八月二九，懷斯曼獲頒第七十一屆威尼斯影展榮譽金獅獎，影展主席阿貝托 ・ 巴貝拉佇頒獎致詞中稱懷斯曼是一位偉大的獨立導演，「 伊創作四十外部的作品全部攏是經典，遮的作品鬥成一幅連紲描繪人類社會生活的壁畫，真濟評論家共比電影界的巴爾鑿克」。

二空一六年八月三十號，佮演員成龍、電影剪輯師安娜 ・ 倭-móo-tooh、選角導演林 ・ 斯塔馬斯特同齊，予美國電影藝術佮科學院理事會選做二空一六年奧斯卡終身成就獎得著者。

總體風格是用美國的各種機構做主題，用這个鏡頭改破各種機構佮人的關係並展示二十世紀下半葉的美國社會。其實影片翕過程往往只開六至八禮拜完成，但是愛開大約一冬時間去鉸輯。
