==生平==

甘瑟出世佇施瓦本的埃斯林根，早年捌研讀神學佮藥劑學，一八五七年就徛佇咧大英博物館，專攻魚類學，到一八七空年，伊完成八卷本的《魚類分類》。 一八七五年，因為伊佇動物學上的成就，予英國自然歷史博物館聘為動物館館長。一八六五年，甘瑟予人選入皇家學會，並捌佇一八七五年出任副會長。一八七七年，伊成做林奈學會會員，並佇一八九六年至一九空空年間做會長。一九一四年二月初一佇邱園過身。
