本物種目前干焦知影存在佇其模式產地，即十五 ° 五十六 ′N 百二一 ° 四十五 ′E，佇菲律賓呂宋島巴勒爾灣海域。
這个物種是佇二空空七年的一次國際海洋生物探測的時，予拖網船佇兩百五十公尺（八百二十英尺）深的海底撈著。這改深測予人呵咾做「二十一世紀頭一个十年描寫海洋生物的上重要發現」。這个物種其後就佇二空一空年正式為海洋生物學家所描述。

==分類學==

The new species was placed in a separate genus , _ Dinochelus _ , whose name derives from the 古希臘語 roots δεινός ( _ dinos _ ) , meaning " terrible " or " fearful " , and χηλή ( _ chela _ ) , meaning " 爪 " . The 種加詞 " ausubeli " honours Jesse H . Ausubel , the sponsor of the Census of Marine Life , " in recognition of his vision and support for marine biodiversity exploration " .
