八哥屬

八哥屬（屬名：_ Acridotheres _）是石鳥科的一个屬，遮泛分佈佇亞洲熱帶地區，部份作為觀賞鳥引入去世界各地，家八哥為其模式種。其實學名來自古希臘語「akridos」（ma蟲）、「-thēras」（掠食）。
中文的「八哥」是對八哥叫聲的描述。「八」為其實叫聲的擬聲詞，而且「哥」實為「ua-sá-bih」，通「歌」，本意為會叭叭叫的鳥仔。

絲網仔和灰鳥有當時仔嘛予人畫歸該屬。
