愛德華·沃爾特·蒙德

愛德華 ・ 沃爾特 ・ 蒙德（英文：Edward Walter Maunder，一八五一年四月十二號—一九二八年三月二一）， 英格蘭天文學家，上出名的學術貢獻即是伊佇日頭烏子佮日頭磁力週期上的研究中，標示出一千六百四十五－一七一五年間的特殊性，毋過這个期間就是尾仔以伊號名的蒙德極細粒子。

早期生活佮私生活

愛德華 ・ 沃爾特 ・ 蒙德出世佇一八五一年的倫敦，是循道會中一个神職人員上細的後生。伊進入倫敦國王學院就讀，猶毋過無畢業。伊佇倫敦銀行界揣著一个工課來支持伊的研究的財務來支出。

愛德華 ・ 蒙德結過兩改婚。一八七三年，蒙德轉去格林尼治天文台，咧撨治 ・ 比德爾 ・ 艾里之下擔任光譜助理的職務。紲落來足緊的，佇一八七五年佮艾蒂絲 ・ 漢娜 ・ 布斯丁（Edith Hannah Bustin）結婚，𪜶兩个共生六个囡仔。佇艾蒂絲 ・ 漢娜於一八八八年過身了後，伊佇一八九空年熟似著安妮 ・ 史考特 ・ 蒂歐 ・ 羅素，伊是伊後來餘生做伙合作的數學家。𪜶兩个佇一八九五年結婚，毋捌有囡仔。一九一六年，安妮 ・ 蒙德成做英國皇家天文學會（Royal Astronomical Society）頭一位女性的成員。

愛德華 ・ 蒙德嘛是一位備受尊敬的聖經學者。

日頭觀測

蒙德佇咧格林尼治天文台的部份工課包括日頭烏子的攝影佮量測，佇咧進行攝影佮量測的過程當中伊發現日頭烏子出現佇日頭的緯度變化是呈現規則的一年禮拜。一八九一年後，伊得著畢業佇劍橋大學格頓學院（Girton College , Cambridge）的數學家，嘛是伊第二任妻子安妮 ・ 史考特 ・ 蒂歐 ・ 蒙德（Annie Scott Dill Maunder , née Russell）的協助。伊佇一八九空年至一八九五年工作於天文台的「女性的計算者」（lady computer）的職務。一九空四年，伊發表著𪜶的共同研究成果，以人講的「蝴蝶圖」表示。

佇古斯塔夫 ・ 施波雷爾（Gustav Spörer）標示出一四空空年至一五一空年為日頭烏子活動誠少的期間（即是施波雷爾極細漢，Spörer Minimum）了後，蒙德對天文台的檔案中整理舊臭有的觀測紀錄來確定敢有其他按呢的期間。這个研究工課伊使佇一八九三年公佈出伊的研究成果，揣著另外一粒日頭極細漢的，即是尾仔以伊號的「蒙德極細漢的」。

其他的天文觀測

一八八二年，蒙德觀測著伊所謂的「極光光束」（auroral beam）， 是彼當陣猶無法度解說的現象，伊凡勢是早期夜光雲佮頂正切楞弧（Upper tangent arc）的觀測紀錄。

伊觀測火星，嘛是火星運河主張的懷疑論者。伊利用標示的圓盤來進行一寡視覺的實驗，得著這款的結論。事實上，遮的看著運河的情形其實是一種錯視。伊也承認火星並無像「咱的世界」仝款有性命，因為火星並無平衡的溫度風以及過低的平均溫度。佇火星佮月球頂懸的蒙德挵挵坑（Maunder Martian crater）佮蒙德環形山（Maunder lunar crater）兩座石坑攏是以蒙德夫婦為號名，來共𪜶紀念的貢獻。

英國天文協會的建立

一八九空年，蒙德成做英國天文協會（British Astronomical Association）建立的主要驅使動力。雖然伊對一八七五年開始就已經是英國皇家天文學會曉的資深會員（fellow）， 但是伊猶原希望建立一个天文學家的協會，這个協會開放予每一个對天文有興趣的人參與喔，無論這个人的社會階級，特別是對開放女性成員的參與。

愛德華 ・ 蒙德是英國天文協會期刊（_ Journal of the British Astronomical Association _）的頭一屆主編，這个職務了後由𪜶牽手。伊的哥哥，湯瑪斯 ・ ma里 ・ 蒙德（Thomas Frid Maunder，一八四一年 ─ 一九三五年）是該協會的共同創辦者，嘛擔任三八年的協會祕書長。
